In this study, we developed a new tool to support the formation of career awareness in career education for female college students, in accordance with the social constructivism career theory, which states that "through dialogue with others, students construct their own stories independently". In developing this new tool, based on the existing Reflection Card® CAREER, we found specific areas for improvement, based on records of reflection workshops conducted in classes and interviews. These areas are: "support for specific narratives," "support for motivation and drive," and "focus on change and growth" and so on. In addition, new categories and content were incorporated from the perspective of questioning the gender consciousness and values that are thought to lie behind the career development of female students. Based on these findings, the Reflection Card® CAREER-W was developed. In the future, it will be necessary to evaluate how effective the newly developed Reflection Card® CAREER-W is in supporting the formation of career awareness among female college students. Therefore, it will be necessary to develop a scale to capture changes in the career awareness of female college students and to verify the effectiveness of the workshop in terms of both quantitative and qualitative aspects. |
