United Nations Population Division announced on October 31,2011that the world population has reached 7 billion,and further estimatedthat it may reach 10 or even 15 billion by 2050.Such a drastic populationincrease threatens our infrastructure,affecting energy resources,food,water and shelter,and ultimateiy accelerates food insecurity andendangers health.To slow down this drastic population increase,it isextremely important for women to voice their opinions on a global level,stating that reproductive rights lie in the hands of women. The latter part of this paper is devoted to China's one child policy,which I have been researching over the past 20 years? this policy demonstratesthe reality in which a nation holds the right to dictate whether one may have a child or not. |
