In 1904, the Church of Christ in Japan inaugurated Chosen mission. Since then, there were more than 5400 Japanese Christians in about 50 communities. After the WWII, most of the Japanese Christians had to retreat to Japan. The chapels and houses for the pastors of Japanese churches were left and taken over to the liberated Korean Christians. Some of the Korean pastors and Christians began their new church or restarted their ministries in the equipped chapels. Considering such a historical fact, Chodong Presbyterian church in Korea which was one of them could began the ecumenical work with Aoyama Church in Japan and it developed more with the joining of Presbyterian Church in Taiwan. 論説(Article) |
