Popis: | There are about 280 students in Portland Japanese School. They go to American public schools on Monday through Friday and go to Japanese School on Saturday. Though there are many kind of difficulties daily in the American public schools in terms of languages, academic achievement and so on, and they have tight schedule, they manage to adapt to the double school sutuation. Students answered the questionaire distuributed in Japanese school. Some of them were interviewed. And two round tabel talks by their mothers were held as well. 109 questionaire data were collected and analized. The discussions were done from the aspect of language, academic achievement and their identity. Students struggles with the rapid change of surroungings, language problems and academic achievment difficulties. But many of them accept the experience positively because they can get broader view and language ability and so on.
