Popis: Giving serious consideration to the phenomenon of conscience hascontinued from ancient times to the present day without reaching anyunified interpretation. It means, in a sense, that the concept of conscience isinextricably linked to the times. And if that is the case, the efforts to verifythe conceptual history of conscience and to further deepen, organize, andclarify research on the phenomenon of conscience are essentially importantefforts both for individuals and for society. The efforts accumulate the“now” that contributes to the future and increase the certainty of resiliencetoward tomorrow. Most of the conscience theories that have been spun by various thinkerssince ancient times have taken on the appearance of a difficult struggle toprotect one of the ideals of the life morality of human beings. As a result ofall the interest in the hardiness of “I”’s morality in the subjectivity, it seemsthat a certain theoretical result has been reached, but it has been releasedfrom the actual social connection, and most of the time they have steppedinto the labyrinth. Therefore, in order to explore a new direction ofconscience theory, it is necessary to verify the validity of the fact that wehave always been interested in the hardiness or stubbornness of “I”’smorality in the subjectivity. It is necessary to find some kind of exit thatwill put an end to the stepping into the labyrinth that has been releasedfrom the social connection.Based on such a need, we will give an overview of the important trends ofmodern times in the conceptual history of conscience and proceed withconsideration for finding a new direction for conscience theory. Specifically, after confirming and verifying the problems of conscience theory thatbecome clear from the overview of the conceptual history of conscience,we will focus on the events in Japanese history that are deeply related tothese problems. Then, we consider the complex spirituality of the art ofNoh, which has continued to exist as the spiritual undercurrent oftraditional Japanese culture. We explore the possibility of finding the exit of the theory of consciencethrough the consideration of a work of Noh, Sotoba Komachi. We will also give attention with keen interest to the importance of theconcept of resilience in the consideration to the phenomenon of consciencestudy because the concept of resilience and the phenomenon of conscienceare complementary to each other.
