The local level is the key to for implementing the concept of sustainable development. This study was aimed at advancing understanding of implementation processes relating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level and informing policy and research through knowledge inputs for their better delivery. It explored the status and processes of SDGs implementation by local governments, key actions that local governments could take, and clarification of possible roles of local governments within partnerships for implementing the SDGs through an analysis of Japanese cases. |
