The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) stated that while schools were required to provide disabled students with "related services," "medical services" did not have to be provided; however, the statute did not define the term "medical services." This Note focuses on Irving Independent School Dist. v. Tatro and Cedar Rapids Community School Dist. v. Garret F. The issue of these cases was that school districts are required to provide "related services" to special education students, as long as the services do not fall into the "medical services" exemption of IDEA. This note examines the evaluation of these cases.
