In this thesis, research was conducted in regard to the capacities of temporary shelters staff for children in child guidance centers, in the context of aid to child victims of abuse. The number of temporary protection cases due to child abuse continues to rise each year, leading to a social problem.Abuse is not only accompanied by delays in physical and intellectual development, but also has a major psychological impact. As such, staff must work to improve their ability to handle these cases, so that child victims of abuse can relax and experience a calm life at temporary shelters. An indispensable aspect of this involves an improvement upon capacities.Improving upon these capacities requires internal growth of staff, leading to the formation of exceptional personal qualities in staff. As such, this thesis presents actual case studies of aid, and searches for the necessary elements for improving staff capacities. As a result, this thesis argues that improving capacities involves knowing oneself, undergoing training in order to strengthen expertise, and cultivating ethics. |
