Popis: We studied the effects of exercise on the variation of serum constituents, especially biochemical constituents, as one of the projects of "Influence of daily life activities on circadian rhythms in body fluid". Subjects studied were 105 healthy students between 20 and 30 years old. The exercise consisted of fast running for 800 meter within 4 minutes. Blood was drawn just before the start of running and 10 minutes after completion of the running. Hematocrit values showed an increase of 1.5% after excercise (statistically significant by paired t test). Many other serum constituents increased after exercise. Among the enzymes present in muscles in large amounts, GOT and LDH increased significantly, but CPK did not change. Other enzymes such as ALP and GPT also increased significantly. Non-enzyme constituents such as total protein, albumin, blood glucose, cholesterol and triglyceride increased significantly. Urea or uric acid did not increase. Further study should be necessary for the understanding of these findings.
