The Muromachi Era in the first term of the 15th century, Japan traded with Korea dynasty. Shouni-shi, the lord of Chikuzen and Sou-shi, the lord of Tsushima Island also traded with Korea dynasty. How was the relationship between Shouni-shi, Sou-shi and Korea dynasty? This is important issue in medieval Muromachi Era. The trade of Shouni-shi with Korea dynasty succeeded through the help of Sou-shi in 1402. In the year 1402~1414, Shouni-shi asked Korea dynasty for munition by trade. Sou-shi helped that trade. In this term, Korea dynasty noted the relationship between Shouni-shi and Sou-shi, and Shouni-shi was upper position beside Sou-shi in Japan. In the year 1423~1430, the trade of Shouni-shi with Korea dynasty was smooth regardless of the battle with the Muromachi shogunate. Because Sou-shi the partner of Shouni-shi succeeded in making good relationship of trade with Korea dynasty. And powerful position in Tsushima Island traded with Korea dynasty together with Shouni-shi. Shouni-shi noted the power of Sou-shi for trade with Korea dynasty, Shouni-shi and Sou-shi traded with that country together again. |
