The formation of children's voluntary reading habits

Popis: 本研究は,学年が上がるにつれ進むといわれている「読書離れ」に歯止めをかけ,子どもたちが生涯にわたって読書に親しみ,読書を楽しむ習慣を形成するための実践についてまとめたものである。阿南市教育委員会・美馬市教育委員会において,鳴門教育大学や徳島県教育委員会と連携し,取組を進めた。両市の現状から,阿南市学校図書館サポーター及び美馬市立図書館との連携を主軸とした取組が有効であると判断し,研究を進めた。その結果,図書館サポーターや図書館司書の読書に関する専門性を生かした働きかけの有効性が明らかになった。専門的知識や学校と市立図書館をつなぐネットワーク,本に関する幅広い知識等を生かした働きかけは,子どもたちと様々な本との出合いの場や本の魅力を知る機会の設定を可能とした。本研究で構築した連携体制を維持・充実させることに より,子どもたちの自主的な読書習慣の形成が実現すると期待される。
The purpose of this study is to steer students away from not reading, which is said to increase as their grade level increases, and help them become familiar with reading throughout their lifetime and to form enjoyable reading habits. This initiative was undertaken by the Anan City Board of Education and the Mima City Board of Education, with the cooperation of Naruto University of Education, the Tokushima Prefectural Board of Education, and such. Based on the current situation in both cities, it was determined that an approach involving the cooperation of the Anan City School Library Supporters and the Mima City Library would be effective, and proceeded with the study accordingly. As a result, it was revealed that an approach relying on the expertise of the library supporters, librarians, and such was effective. By utilizing their expertise, their knowledge of a wide range of books, and a network that links the school(s) with the municipal library, it became possible to create an opportunity where children are introduced to a variety of books and the charm of them. It is expected that through the enrichment and maintenance of the cooperative system established with this study, childrens voluntary reading habits will also be realized.
