Popis: When the periodic velocity fluctuation is introduced in a mean flow, the separation flow changes in various manners. The change, in particular, the motion of the separation shear layer, appears in the frequency of the fluctuation. In order to see clearly the principal motion of the velocity field, phase averaging was conducted to the velocity signals. In this study, wavelet analysis is applied to obtain the dominant frequency and phase. The contours of the phase averaging velocity could be presented and discussed in this study. The shapes of contour varied dynamically at each phase and show the periodic motion of the shear layer. The separation shear layer flutters with the velocity fluctuation in the mean flow. By the suitable frequency, the separation region disappears in the most of phases due to the depressed shear layer near the wall.
