The laser absorption spectrometry (LAS) is useful to probe the trace gases, which include the greenhouse effect gases. It has been well studied as a system with the multi-pass absorption cell. Sampling gas to the cell, however, limits the response speed and the measurable area of the system. To solve these problems and be more noninvasive than the conventional ones, we have developed a LAS system which has not employed the multi-pass cell but measured in the open atmosphere. Since a dominant noise of our system might be the scintillation due to atmospheric turbulence because of monitoring in the open atmosphere, we proposed and constructed a quick scanning LAS system. In this paper we describe some results of experiments with the LAS system showing the antiscintillation performance of our method. |
