Popis: The aim of this study was to develop a Japanese version of the Self-Care Assessment for Psychologists (SCAP), a self-care scale for psychologists developed by Dorociak et al. (2017).A total of 134 participants (83 psychologists, 46 non-psychologists, and 5 other participant) were surveyed via Google Forms. The questionnaire consisted of the SCAP-J, which was translated into Japanese by the authors, and the Occupational Stress Questionnaire (Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare, 2001). Factor analysis of the SCAP-J indicated that it had a five-factor structure, which was consistent with the SCAP. The SCAP-J had sufficient reliability and an α of .97 (all 21 items). Significant correlations between the factors and the expected stress indices were noted. The SCAP-J had validity and reliability across different cultural backgrounds. Moreover, results indicated that the intensity of stress and self-care significantly correlated with age and career. This suggests that the combined use of the stress scale and the SCAP-J may be useful in understanding the actual state of self-care unique to psychologists or the state of stress depending on age. Results also suggested that the two instruments may be useful in supporting the self-care of psychologists in accordance with their careers.
