Popis: This study aims to clarify the history of the development in the Miyagawa-cho Kagai district. When Minami-za, is a traditional theatre, was built on the northern side and the development on the eastern side, Miyagawa-cho Kagai district became a building lot. The entire area of Miyagawa-cho Kagai was not developed simultaneously. There are three areas, one of which has watercourses to the north and south, restricting access to people. Therefore, it is assumed that the area have become a playful flower district. Shimabara, the first publicly licensed Kagai, dug a moat to restrict the entry and exit of people, but in the case of Miyagawa-cho Kagai, the watercourses played the role of the moats.
