Popis: In this note we shall give a proof that cos x and sin x can be developed into the Maclaurin series without using calculus. Our starting point is the following well-known inequalities; sin x ≤ x ≤ tan x (0 ≤ x < π/2). Of course, we shall make use of some basic facts of trigonometric functions obtained geometrically, like the addition rules of cos x and sin x.
