Popis: This note treats some problems about co-occurrence of kakari-particles in classical Japanese, especially from the viewpoint of the syntaxical functions and cognitive processes.First, in Japanese classical poems, ha-ya chain forms, normally with auxiliary verb “ramu”, fonction as the forms for explanations of cause and effect relationship. In contrast, ya-ha chain forms function simply as the interrogative sentences. This shows that the order of kakari-particles determines the syntactic structures and functions of the sentences.Second, in the sentences with “ba-koso”, we can mostly observe the co-occurrence of particle “mo”. This phenomena can be treated as the problem of co-occurrence of particles “koso”and ”mo”. As a result of our research, we find that both particles form the particular syntactic construction, where the semantic interactions between “koso”and “mo” can be observed.Third, we discuss the continuity between chain forms and contrast forms. Although both are quite different forms, in some cases, for example with same pair of kakari-particles, we find very similar cognitive processes on both side. Finally, we point out that there are co-occurrence patterns of kakari-particles, indicating focus moving. These patterns (transition forms) are used to suggest the movement of viewpoints of narrotor or characters, especially in the tales of Heian period.
