Regardless of sexuality, there is an urgent need to improve the school environment so that students can lead a school life without discomfort. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the factors of gender dysphoria in the school life of FtM parties. We surveyed 15 FtM parties through questionnaires and interviews to understand their gender dysphoria in school life. The survey period was from 19th September to 27th October, 2021. Many of the FtM parties were uncomfortable in school life with "toilet," "changing room," and "swimsuit", regardless of elementary, junior high, or high school. In the "toilet" and "changing room", discomfort was caused by [distinguishing by physical sex], [line of sight from others], [characteristics of the place], and [difference between gender identity and space]. "Swimsuits" were uncomfortable due to [distinguishing by physical sex] and [line of sight from others]. In addition, many of the parties were uncomfortable with "uniforms" in junior high and high school. "Uniforms" and "school supplies" were uncomfortable due to [distinguishing by physical sex] and [gender]. It would be possible to adopt "school supplies" that do not form gender awareness, "uniforms" with genderless designs, and "swimsuits" with less exposure and emphasis on the body. In order to reduce gender dysphoria in the "toilet" and "changing room", it is necessary to devise a space design. |
