Notes on Two Penicillate Diplopods, Eudigraphis takakuwai nigricans (MIYOSHI) and E. takakuwai takakuwai (MIYOSHI) Found on the Coast of Sagami Bay (Diplopoda, Penicillate, Polyxenidae)

Popis: Two Picillate diplopods, Eudigraphis takakuwai nigricans (MIYOSHI) and E. takakuwai takakuwai (MIYOSHI) are commonly found on the cost of Sagami Bay. The former lives in crevices or craks found on the rocky shores, about 1m or so from the high tidal level, all the year round, and its spawning behaviors were observed at Enoshima Island. The latter are commonly found on Heaves of bamboo-grasses growing near the seashore during the spring to autumn at Manazuru. The adult specimen has eleven trunk aegments and thirteen pairs of legs, and the most juvenile specimen found in the collection has six trunk segments and four pairs of legs. The first larval studium, provided with five trunk segments and three pairs of legs, was not found in this study.
