Popis: | 実践報告 本稿では、内容重視型(Content-Based Instruction)授業における異文化理解促進の試み を紹介する。11人の大学生を対象に日本文化の概念を英語で読ませ、協同学習による議論 と内容把握に取り組ませた。また、Google Classroom に課題として要約と Reflection paper を提出させた。その後、ライティング能力の伸びを測定するために、指導前後の Reflection paper の平均の差を両側検定の t 検定により検討した結果、有意に向上したことが明らか となった。しかしながら、学習姿勢に改善は見られたが、参加者は比較的少数であるため、今後も実験研究が求められる。 This study describes a content-based instruction (CBI) seminar aimed at developing understanding of Japanese cultural concepts while also improving English writing proficiency and promoting cross-cultural understanding. 11 university students were supposed to read about Japanese cultural concepts in English during the lessons, and work on cooperative learning and contents comprehension. Afterwards, they were individually assigned to submit summary writings and pre- and post-reflection papers through Google Classroom. To measure writing improvement, a paired-samples t test was used to compare students’ scores on the pre and post paper. The t test indicates significant difference in student performance between the pre and the post paper. Also, the study showed positive impacts on students’ writing, such as more logical structures and increased vocabulary knowledge. However, despite the observed improvements in learning attitudes, the sample size of this study was relatively small and so further experimental studies should be implemented to confirm the results. |
