Seventeen patients with benign prostatic hypertrophy have been treated by an oral administration of phenoxybenzamine (POB) 5 mg daily for 14 days. The effectiveness was determined by scoring the relief degree of symptoms or complaints related to micturition, and by physical findings such as the amount of residual urine, uroflowmetric and cystometric patterns, and urethral pressure profile.
