Estimation of evapotranspiration (ET) rate is an important part in the longterm runoff calculation. If there is no data that can be used to calculate the ETrate of that basin, some approximation must be used as the first step. Thornthwaiteor Hamon equation is a simple method to estimate the potential ET rate. Therelation between actual and potential ET rate is investigated for each district ofJapan. Consequently, actual ET rate can be estimated through the simple ETequations using the annual precipitation amount as the parameter. |
