Comparison of Students' Basic-General Skills, Attitude between the Types of the Entrance Examination - the results of the 2020 - 2022 enrollment attitude surveys

Popis: To investigate differences of the characteristics of students' basic general skills and attitude, the results of enrollment surveys, which were administrated in 2020 - 2022, were compared between four types of the entrance examination. The survey in 2020 consisted of nine questions; one question was added to the survey in 2021 and one more question was added to the survey in 2022. In this study, we focused on one of the questions that included 23 items which asked about strengths and weakness, for example "Are you strong at using ICT equipment?" and compared the types of the entrance examination. The MANOVA result showed that the four types were not from the same population, and response profiles to the items of special selection students differed from general selection students. From additional analysis, it was found that the response rates to the option "I'm strong at" of special selection students were higher than general selection students in almost all of the items. From the results, we could say that basic general skills and attitude of special selection students are better than general students. Further research about the relationship between academic achievement is needed.
