In this study, preparing the control group who spends the same music time as the music therapy group, we have the object to deepen the effect of the maintenance of cognitive function by group music therapy for person of advanced years.We study how effective the prevention program of dementia structured by music therapist is, comparing Karaoke which elderly people daily enjoy.In the result, music therapy group maintained the value of MMSE after six months, but Karaoke group declined significantly after six months （p＜0.05）, also, in the post value of MMSE, the difference of music therapy group and KARAOKE group was significant （p＜0.05）.Therefore we can suggest the effect of the maintenance of cognitive function by music therapy we had also suggested （TAKAHASHI・TAKANO 2010）.Music therapy is more effective to maintain cognitive function than KARAOKE, but we had a subject to understand on which side of cognitive function music therapy effective is. |
