Popis: This paper reports the status quo and possibilities of the voluntary international exchange activities in our campus. There have been more and more Japanese students who want to have an international exchange and to join in the classes at the International Student Center, such as 'Intercultural Communication' and even 'Japanese Affairs' and 'Japanese Language' (these two classes are only for the foreign students). The international exchange circle of students started their activities from May 1998. Their members are ready to help the international students in various aspects of their campus lives. While some Japanese students have tried to teach Japanese to the inter-national students as a volunteer tutor, some international students tried to instruct Japanese students in their language. We have been making a trial of volunteer tutor system for the short stay students to make up for the formal tutor system. This trial should be encouraged. More efforts of voluntary faculty members and students are required in order to empower this trend and to make up a network of the international exchange volunteers.
