Popis: | Image pan-sharpening or data fusion is widely usedmethod for increasing the spatial resolution of multispectralimages. Hence, the task is to enhance the spatial resolution ofthe multispectral images by merging them with spatially morehighly resolved panchromatic data obtained from a satellitesensor. However, the analysis of quality distortion of the finalpan-sharpened image is a difficult task in the field of remotesensing, since a reference image is usually unavailable. Thispaper illustrates the measurement of spectral and spatialquality of pan-sharpened images region-wise using objectbased image segmentation technique. Experimental resultsshow that the proposed pan-sharpening scheme can effectivelypreserve spectral information while improving the spatialquality, and outperforms the general IHS based pansharpeningmethods. |
