The invention proposes a method and a device for testing two redundantly connected analogue output subassemblies (A01,A02) which predefine the output current as a manipulated variable of, for example, actuators (1), actuating drives, valves etc., wherein the summation current, that is to say the sum of the output current (I1) of the analogue output subassembly (A01) and the output current (I2) of the analogue output subassembly (A02), corresponds to the manipulated variable. The method has the following features: a) the output current (I1) of one analogue output subassembly (A01) is first of all reduced for testing and is then increased to the starting value again before testing, b) the output current (I2) of the other analogue output subassembly (A02) is first of all increased to the same extent and is then reduced to the starting value before testing, with the result that, during error-free operation of both analogue output subassemblies (A01,A02), the summation current also corresponds to the manipulated variable during testing. |
