Home palliative care (HPC) is one of the most important strategies to achieve universal health coverage in patients at end-of-life. In this chapter, we explore how this kind of care can be promoted and delivered in different realities, and what its impact will be on health care costs and on the use of health resources. For these purposes, human resources in quality and quantity, funding, quality improvement strategies and programs, outcomes and continuous evaluation play a very important role. E-health seems to be promising and useful for achieving the HPC expected outcomes. |
