Popis: | Background Venous thrombosis is common in nephrotic syndrome, but portal vein thrombosis has a relatively low incidence in patients with nephrotic syndrome. We describe here a case of an 18-year old male student with newly diagnosed nephrotic syndrome that was complicated with portal, splenic and superior mesenteric vein thrombosis. Conclusion In the presence of newly diagnosed nephrotic syndrome of minimal change disease, thrombus formation can occur and should be noted, particularly when it occurs, in rare sites. The recognition in nephrotic syndrome complicated with portal, splenic and superior mesenteric vein thrombosis should be emphasized. |
