Popis: | Ek, J. & Ljunggren, H. Pattern of Renal Excretion of Water and Electrolytes during Induced Salt-free Hydration in Hypertensive Patients. Scand. J. Clin. Lab. Invest. 19 86–99, 1967. Two groups of patients with arterial hypertension, one untreated and the other treated, underwent acute hydration. The changes in the renal excretion of electrolytes and water were recorded. Hydration caused a larger excretion of sodium in the two groups of hypertensives than in a group of normotensive controls. Better distinction was achieved when the changes in sodium, potassium and water excretion were considered collectively. The results obtained in each hypertensive were then found to differ significantly from those in the normotensive group. The abnormal response to hydration persisted even after the blood pressure had been normalized for a long time. |
