I t is more critical now than ever to develop mentoring relationships in optometry. As the "Baby Boomer" optometric generation ages, the profession is in need of the next generations to take the reinsclinically, academically, and in research. Effective mentorships can positively shape and mold our profession's behavior and destiny.l Several skills are cultivated and refined during the mentoring process, including an improved ability to communicate with patients and healthcare and better networking strategies. Also, through mentoring one might achieve increased job satisfaction and more professional advancement. |
