| Popis: | Crossed immunoelectrophoresis (CIE) precipitates of human plasma were incubated with 125 I-thrombin to demonstrate thrombin-binding proteins. Autoradiography indicated binding to α 2 -macroglobulin only. By preincubating plasma with 125 I-thrombin prior to CIE, binding to antithrombin III was demonstrated under these conditions. This CIE/autoradiography approach allows demonstration of distinct protein-protein interactions in complex solutions and may be applied to other binding studies. |
