| Popis: | The thyroid glands of guinea-pigs were stimulated by the administration of methylthiouracil. The histochemically demonstrable succinic dehydrogenase activity was determined by the quantitative tetrazolium method. A marked increase in the enzymatic activity of the stimulated thyroid glands was observed and measured. The quantitative estimation of enzymatic activity is apparently a reliable and sensitive method for demonstrating the activity of the thyroid cells. |
