Popis:	Summary. A commercial quality control reagent suitable for use with a multiparameter haematological analyser (Coulter Counter Model S Plus Phase I, Coulter Electronics Ltd, Luton, England) has been assessed in routine use for a 3 year period. Overall performance of this reagent was satisfactory in the whole blood mode provided the expected ranges assigned by the manufacturer were used. Performance using pre-dilute mode was unsatisfactory. A criticism of the manufacturer's ‘expected range’ of values is discussed.
