Popis: Aim: 48 patients who have just been diagnosed and who have been treated and who had relapsed disease were included in our study. In these patients groups, it was aimed to detection and compare interleukin 2 (IL-2), IL-4, IL-9, IL-10 and IFN- Gamma cytokine levels and whether these cytokines may be used to determine the patients with relapsed disease and in the patients follow up.Methods: The antibody spesific to Echinonoccus were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), indirect hemaglutination assay ( IHA), immunochromatographic test (ICT) and IL-2, IL-4, IL-9, IL-10 ve IFN- Gamma cytokine levels were measured by ELISA in three patients' sera. Results: While IL-10 and IFN- Gamma levels in patients who have just been diagnosed were found to be higher than other patients, IL-2, IL-4 and IL-9 levels in patients who had relapsed disease were found to be higher than other patients. Conclusion: In conclusion, our study results showed that determination of IL-2, IL-4, IFN- Gamma levels can be useful, especially following the patients with relapse. Also, our study is the second study evaluates IL-9 cytokine levels by patients with echinococcosis. In te first study, patients with relapsed disease were not included in study. We found similiar results with this study and also IL-9 levels were higher in the patients with relapsed disease, which suggested this cytokine could be important in the evaluation of the patients with relapsed disease.
