Popis: | Terrorism is an emerging and continuously growing worldwide threat, with numerous attacks over the last years. Mass transportation systems hold a unique position as possible targets for such attacks. Earlier detection of terrorists and potentially dangerous objects, tracking of detected individuals or situations and coordination of first responders, are critical actions that will mitigate the terrorism-related risks. PREVENT as an EU-funded initiative focuses on the identification of the commonly shared challenge of the practitioners in the field of transport security in European level for preempting attacks, following a progressive and iterative methodological approach. Within this chapter, the scenario-based framework developed and followed to conclude with the Common Challenge for the future procurement is further analyzed pinpointing the potential enhancement that will be offered to public transport operators. Based on the project results, a multidimensional roadmap of innovations and solutions is elaborated. |
