1. 1. A review of our total experience with cancer of the cervical segment of the esophagus, both primary and metastatic, has been presented. 2. 2. A successful replacement of the cervical esophagus with an aortic homograft is recorded. This is the first case of this type of which we are aware. 3. 3. An unsuccessful example of a similar procedure is included. It exemplifies that the graft should be sutured only to living tissue, not to itself. 4. 4. The procedure has the advantage of being performed in one stage. |
