Popis: Melanotic lesions were found in several tissues of larval Drosophila melanogaster following treatment with Rous sarcoma virus, methylcholanthrene, and dimethyl sulfoxide. Similar lesions were found in adults of Melanoplus sanguinipes after they had been injected with sublethal doses of an insecticide. We do not think that either of these lesions are analogous to mammalian neoplasia, and thus should not be called “tumors.”
