Popis: | Peliosis is an unusual disorder characterized by multiple blood-filled spaces within the liver and, in some cases, the spleen [1 , 2]. Previously associated with advanced tuberculosis, the disease is being recognized more often in patients receiving long-term steroid therapy [3] and in those infected by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) [4]. We report the MR imaging findings in a patient with Fanconi anemia treated with androgenic steroids who had hepatic and splenic peliosis that resolved after cessation of steroid therapy. The MR findings were correlated with those on CT, sonography, and pathologic examinations. |
