Popis: Due to the large contribution of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) to the effectiveness of combat operations, its evaluation is important for assessing the quantitative and qualitative balance of forces of groups of troops. When assessing the effectiveness of the use of aviation, the integrated indicators “combat potential” and “combat capabilities” are most often used, which in turn are assessed by a number of partial indicators. In the case of assessing the combat effectiveness of UAS, their formations or groups, it is necessary to take into account the specific features of the composition, methods of application of UAS, features of flight characteristics and operational limitations of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The article proposes a methodical approach to assessing the combat potential of unmanned aerial vehicles, their units and groups, which, in contrast to existing methods of assessing the effectiveness of manned aircraft, takes into account the specific features of modern UAS, namely: the presence of UAS ground control station. the enemy; the presence in the complex of several aircraft that can be used sequentially or simultaneously; significant dependence of the effectiveness of combat use on weather conditions. The proposed approach takes into account in more detail the conditions of combat use, namely: the presence of faulty enemy objects and their camouflage; the presence in the group of UAS for different purposes and features of their joint use. The methodological approach will be useful in assessing the balance of forces of the parties, and allows to determine the sensitivity of combat capabilities of units and groups armed with unmanned aerial vehicles to changes in combat conditions and characteristics of UAS, which is confirmed by the results of calculations.
