Popis: Chromophobe adenomas showing some degree of invasiveness or malignant characteristics are not rare. Reports of bone invasion outside the immediate sella area, however, are lacking. Taveras (4) encountered a case involving the floor of the middle fossa and petrous tips, and there have been reports of invasion locally into the cavernous sinus (1) and adjacent nerves and ganglions (2, 3). L. W., a school teacher, presented in 1957 with sudden onset of severe frontal headaches associated with some neck pain. An ophthalmologic examination at that time revealed a left third and sixth nerve palsy and some diversion of the left eye. The neurological examination otherwise was within normal limits. The fundi were negative. Skull roentgenograms revealed a destructive process involving the sella turcica, which extended into the dorsum sellae, the anterior clinoids, and the floor of the sella turcica.
