Popis: | The performance of a natural iron ore originated from Mentes mine (Kayseri-Turkey) as an oxygen carrier in the CLC process was assessed in this study. A laboratory scale, alternating atmosphere fluidized bed set-up was used in order to simulate the CLC conditions. The oxygen carrier material was stable until the end of tests, and it exhibited more than 90% gas yield during the tests when fueled with pure CO (flow rates between 130 and 200 W-th) at 800 degrees C (1073 K). On the other hand, the syngas yield was approximately 83% at almost the same test conditions (flow rates between 120 and 180 W-th). It was determined that test temperature had almost no effect on fuel gas yield. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. |
