Popis: Twenty-five extracted maxillary central incisors were selected on the basis of lack of fractures, crask, abrasions, or carious lesions. Crowns were removed, all roots were instrumented to a ≠50 file 0.5 to 1.0 mm from the apex, and then filled with gutta-percha using lateral condensation. All teeth were fitted with an experimental 18-gauge hollow stainless steel post with cast gold cores. A group of 20 teeth had two crimps placed in the hollow post to aid retention. A second group of five teeth did not have crimps. The mean failure load for the crimped posts was 14.72 kg and that for the uncrimped posts was 14.61 kg. There was no statistically significant difference between these two failure loads. A correlation factor of 0.69 was found between labial dentin thickness and failure load. This factor is statistically significant (p
