Popis: Background During the COVID-19 pandemic, physical distancing policies left UK Ambulance organisations struggling to provide practical placement opportunities for undergraduate paramedic students. This article explores student feedback to understand whether Virtual Reality (VR) technology bridged the gap. Aim Can simulated ambulance scenarios, using VR, support paramedic students in meeting course objectives? Methods A series of VR scenarios mapped to paramedic undergraduate programme learning outcomes at two universities during April-May 2021, complemented practical ambulance placements in south west England. Students voluntarily provided free-text feedback and content analysis was used to code and categorise responses based upon frequency. Findings Nine themes were systematically generated from feedback provided by fifty-three students. Themes related to three domains of learning; affective, psychomotor and cognitive. An overarching theme of ‘enthusiasm for VR learning’ was identified. Conclusion Overall, the utilisation of VR for practical scenarios appears to be a useful and acceptable adjunct to traditional ambulance shifts.
