Popis: | (1) A method for the radioiodination of angiotensin II is described in detail. (2) The specific radioactivity of the labelled angiotensin was 78.8 mc. of131I iodide per mg. of angiotensin. (3) The131I-labelled hormone contained no detectable degradation products on agar electrophoresis. (4) The oxidising effect of chloramine-T was stopped after 15 seconds by the addition of sodium metabisulphite. (5) Synthetic angiotensin has been successfully used without conjugation to another particle to produce antibodies in the rabbit. (6) The antibody produced is extremely sensitive as shown by the inhibition of the reaction between the anti-angiotensin and radio-angiotensin by millimicrograms of unlabelled angiotensin. (7) A radioimmunoassay for endogenous angiotensin is feasible. |
