Popis: | equivalents and a cross sectional US population. Despite numerous ER phenotypes, only few progress to sudden death [4]. Using our data we hypothesize that serum electrolytes could affect JPE and perhaps influence the prognosis. Future investigations are required to test this hypothesis in ER population. It also remains to be clarified whether JPE determined by the methods used in this study are equivalent to ER methods used in other studies that suggested risk associations. This was a retrospective observational study and thus lacked interventions. We had access to data from only a single ECG taken during the baseline physical examination, which was not verified manually. ST-segment morphology was unavailable and dynamic changes on follow-up could not be excluded. Our data source was dominated by anterior JPE therefore the risk associated with inferior and/or lateral JPE could not be excluded. Our methodology of using quartiles of summed J point elevation may have also led to the lack of relationship of JPE with mortality. |
