Reproductive performance is a key component of the overall health of a population group. The death of women of childbearing age is primarily caused by problems related to reproductive health. This is a persistent problem in impoverished nations, such as India. In this study, we evaluate the reproductive performance among the villagers in Birsingha Gram, Midnapore district, located in rural West Bengal, India. We summarize how several factors, such as age at menarche, marriage, knowledge and use of contraception, desired number of children, and gender preference, among others have shaped women's reproductive health in this region. |
