Popis: | 1. The administration of mice, thymectomized at the third day of age, of T3 fraction 5 in the first month of life, leads to the formation of reduced function of the adrenals in male and female adult animals. 2. The administration of T3 in vitro suppresses the hormonal function of the adrenal cortex in male and female mice. 3. The administration of T3 to adult male mice in vivo reduces the production of adrenal cortical glucocorticoids. 4. The significant activity which T3 manifests in relation to the adrenals, makes it possible to assume that the diverse influence of the thymus on the endocrine system may be mediated by this preparation. |
