Popis: | Wall-resolved large eddy simulations and wall-modeled large eddy simulations are still separate strategies in the field of wall-turbulence applications, and no significant attempts have been documented to blend them in order to exploit the full potential of the two methods. This work enables a smooth transition between these two techniques, designing a robust algorithm that dynamically adapts the wall treatment. In particular, we propose a unified method that employs augmented turbulent viscosity and diffusivity at the wall location and allows for preservation of both the no-slip and isothermal/adiabatic conditions. |
