Popis: Woolfabrics can be colored with synthetic dyes and even also with natural sources. To present a different aspect to the coloration of wool, the study was focusedon a topping process (dyeing of wool which was already dyed) with differentnatural dye sources. For this purpose, the fabrics that were already dyed witha natural dye source were once again dyed with two different natural dyes. Forbottom dyeing (bottoming), fabrics were dyed with hop (Humulus lupulus L.) in presence of different mordanting agents. Then the dyed, washed & dried samples were once again dyed (topping) withtwo different natural dye sources. For topping; the powdered madder and acornwere tested in direct dyeing of wool samples. Finally, the color changes wereanalyzed with the use of a spectrophotometer. The study exhibitedthat such a process (bottoming with hopin presence of different mordanting agents and then topping with madder oracorn) can be a way to obtain different shades and colors by natural dyeing.
